Electrochemical study of electrode materials

  • Synthesis of electrodes materials and assembling of lithium-ion cells.

  • Electrochemical charge/discharge and cyclic voltammetry (CV).

  • Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).

  • Galvanostatic intermittent titration technique (GITT).

 

Material characterization

  • Measurement of lab scale XRD patterns and user of synchrotron radiation based X-rays for in situ and ex situ XRD studies.

  • Rietveld refinement of XRD pattern to calculate lattice parameters, atomic co-ordinates etc.

 

Density functional theory

  • Density of states and band structure calculations.

  • Calculation of expected voltage profile of an electrode material.

  • Electron density maps.

  • Calculation of change in formation/Gibbs free energy of a reaction.
